My July Projects for Blue Fern Studios

Hello! I'm super excited to share my projects I've made this month for Blue Fern Studios!

Sparkle Card

First up, I have this card I made with the Ombre Dreams paper.

I used two pieces of chipboard on this card, and here's a close up that shows the details. The "Sparkle" piece is from the "Winter Titles" set. I used some metallic stain by sponging it on the raw piece for a toned down metal look. Sponging it on also gives some bubbles on the piece that adds a slight touch of dimension.

For the "Treasured Floral Frame," I primed it with gesso, then used some shimmery watercolors in two different colors in random spots, leaving some of the gesso exposed.

Timeless Beauty Altered Mailbox

I altered this paper mache mailbox with papers from the Blue Fern Garden line.

This is the back view, showcasing my favorite piece of paper from the line. :)

In this close up, you can see how I line the inside of the mailbox, and stuffed it full of various flowers.

I used the "Blooming Flourishes." Two pieces come in the set.

Here's a closeup to see the details of the flourishes. I ran them through my die cut machine with a script embossing folder, then primed them with gesso, and while still wet, added some dry green milk paint. It left a grainy and chalky surface, which I love. After it was dry, I used green and brown distress inks to change the color in a way that complimented the papers better.

Beautiful Layout

I really loaded up on the chipboard in this layout!

For the "Beautiful" title piece, I ran a chalk ink pad over it, being sure to get an uneven coat.

For both the "Fancy Bird Cage" and the "Shabby Brick Bits," I used the same technique, which is simple: I grazed each of the pieces with brown archival ink, being sure to leave a lot exposed, then using distress ink with a blending tool to get that definition that you can see on the bird cage.
And, here's a closeup that shows the finish on the "Roman Clock Set" (Large). I used white chalk ink and then misted it with light brown, dark brown, and gold inks.

For the "Corner Flourish," I primed it with gesso, then painted it with three coats of three different green paints.

Thanks for checking out my projects today!

Moment for Tresors de Luxe

Hello!  Today I'd like to share a layout I made using some lace and flowers from the Tresors deLuxe shop.

I just ADORE the flowers that Lucy has, and I went a little nuts with this cluster, but I couldn't help myself! All of these colors went so well with the papers, that I had to use them all!
Here are the flowers I used in this cluster :

And, lastly, I used these, in pink and yellow:

In this pic you can see that I used more dusty roses and the cording that is across the pic is actually from the shabby chic rose cluster from the picture above. It was the circle part, but I thought it would look nice right here.

Here's a closeup that showcases the laces I used.

I used lace fabric trim GL-005 that I cut up each scallop and placed them around the oval.

And, lastly I placed this White Venice Bridal Embroidered Guipure trim across the lower part of the layout before I piled on the rest of the layers. I scuffed it up a bit with some brown chalk ink to tone down the white.

Thanks for having a look at my project! Check back tomorrow for some more lovely creations made by this awesome team!

"My Littles" Altered Canvas

This is what I came up with for the altered canvas project add on this month, based on the monthly sketch.

This close up shows the detail of the ivy die cut out of the canvas paper and painted with the Tattered Angels paint from the add on.

Here's what the sides look like. I added some seam binding from my stash and used the floral wire from the embellishment add on to add some dimension.

Here's a close up of the BFS chipboard bridge.

And, as always with the project/tech add ons, I have a video showing how I made this canvas here:

"You Shine" Layout

For this layout, I used some blue, peach, and gold mists to create splatters on the background paper after using the Crafter's Workshop Ledger stencil with my new favorite medium, Wendi Vecchi Crackle Embossing Paste.

Here's a close up that shows the detail of the stencil. I added some blue chalk ink to parts of the paste after it dried.

I used the ivy die from the project add on, and the canvas paper too. It's colored with the green Silks from the mediums add on, and then I added some brown chalk ink to tone down the color and give it a distressed look.

"My Sweet Princess" Layout

Sometimes, I get a little tired of using mixed media and I wanted to make a page without all of that stuff! I need paint the BFS chipboard flourush with the Silks from the mediums kit, but other than that, I just focused on distressing and layers. :)

Here's some closeups of my more simplistic layout:

Here's a closeup of the embellies:

Altered Cigar Box for Tresors de Luxe

Hello lovely people! I'm so excited to share my first project made with amazing Tresors de Luxe products!

This is an altered cigar box I made:

I love playing with different shades of colors, and loved adding different white and creams to one project, accenting them with purple and green.

Under the embellishments, you can see an Ivory Lace Applique, which was the perfect subtle background for this colorful cluster.  This piece comes in a set of two.

Here's a close up showcasing the fabulous purple fabric roses,  and also the purple shabby chic flower embellishment, along with a couple of things from my stash.

And here's a close up of the trims I used. Top trim: Pearl Beaded Alencon Trim Bottom trim: Ivory Bridal Crafting Lace

I just adore the quality of these trims!

Check out the dimension of these flowers!

Thanks for having a look at my altered cigar box! Have a great day!
